Code of Conduct
THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE RISEN PHOENIX FLEET AND CLAN
CODE OF CONDUCT
INTRODUCTION:
This document shall exist to serve as a Code of Conduct for all Risen Phoenix Fleet members, regardless of Rank assignment or Divisional service. The Risen Phoenix Fleet is a Brotherhood whose members are bound not just to the Fleet they serve, but to themselves and each other through teamwork, discipline, and camaraderie. As such, the principles and procedures in this document are grounded in honour, sensibility, and respect for all Players one may meet on the battlefield.
THE CODE OF CONDUCT:
This section of the Document serves to outline specific information relating to the Code by sub-topic, starting with some general information on the conduct of Fleet members as a whole. Section 2 deals with issues of Diplomacy and related protocols, and Section 3 covers registering complaints / feedback.
1 - General Conduct
1-1) All Risen Phoenix Fleet members are required to conduct themselves professionally, and be respectful of
all soldiers on the various fields of battle when in battle. This professionalism shall apply in the following
ways:
I) Good sportsmanship should be shown on Servers at all times.
Each Risen Phoenix member is seen as an example of the Brotherhood, and as such,
each member should put their best foot forwards.
II) Fair Play should be recognized. If you are loosing to someone who is just better than you
(and there is always at least one out there) … try and learn something from them instead of
becoming angry or frustrated. This will forge you into a better soldier over the long term.
III) Cheating in any way, shape, or form will not be tolerated. Any Risen Phoenix Fleet member
who is found guilty of cheating on a Server will be subject to JAG proceedings.
IV) By virtue of our professionalism, Risen Phoenix Fleet members are encouraged to report instances of cheating to the other members of the Fleet. Information may include Player name, Server name and address, game name, or other required information needed to communicate the cheating situation. The situation may then be acted upon by the Generals (Admiralty), or the Server will simply be dropped from any active lists the Fleet maintains.
1-2) Accepting a position within the Brotherhood of the Risen Phoenix at any Officer level Rank
(2nd Lieutenant / Ensign Rank or higher) is a responsibility as well as a privilege – not “just” to the
Brotherhood per Se, but to yourselves and your own actions. This is because it is you who will shape
and grow the Brotherhood in the future for your own benefit, as well as for the benefit of your fellow
Risen Phoenix members.
1-2a) As such, the Brotherhood of the Risen Phoenix does not allow members at or above these Ranks to
“double”, or “multi”-clan for any reason. Any member of the Risen Phoenix Officer Corps that is found
to be doing this shall be held in violation of this section (1-2 General Conduct) of the Brotherhoods
Code Of Conduct, and shall be subject to JAG proceedings. If the Officer is found to be guilty of this
charge, they shall be Dishonourably Discharged from the Brotherhood of the Risen Phoenix without
possibility of re-application.
1-2b) Proper Respect and Decorum in all Communications
All Officers will observe Proper Respect and Decorum in all communications between members of The Brotherhood. We are a team, with a solid Chain of Command. Incidents that can undermine our organization and that fall under this area of the CoC are as follows:
1) Disrespect toward a Flag Officer, The Lordship, The Fleet Admiral and the Lord Marshal and Founder by a Senior Officer, Junior Officer, Cadet (or Enlisted Member).
2) Disrespect toward a Senior Officer by a Junior Officer, Cadet (or Enlisted Member).
3) Disrespect toward a Junior Officer by a Cadet (or Enlisted Member).
Note: Senior Officers are looked upon as Leaders of the Fleet and Clan. A Senior Officer will be severely punished if found guilty of this type of offence, due to the nature of it and its potential undermining of Good Order and Discipline of our organization. Punishment can be one, or a combination of the following:
1) Reduction in Rank to the next lower rank (per Guilty verdict per charge).
2) Written apology to the offended, posted in a Fleet exclusive forum.
3) Loss of Command, whether Division or Department due to the lack of trust.
4) Dismissal from the Brotherhood of The Risen Phoenix without the possibility of return.
1-3) Much as it has already been stated in Section 1-2, any treasonous action performed against or to the
Brotherhood of the Risen Phoenix by a member of any Rank shall be subject to JAG proceedings.
If the offender is found guilty, they will be Dishonourably Discharged from the Brotherhood without
possibility of re-application.
2 - Diplomacy And Protocols
2-1) The Brotherhood of the Risen Phoenix is an organization that must expand and change to stay competitive.
Consideration as to whether this should extend into forming Alliances with other clans has been given;
the Brotherhood does not take such relations lightly. Rather, within the context of our own direction as a
Fleet, we believe that diplomacy should be sought after and cultivated between ourselves and other clans,
and that our alliances hold for legitimate and valid reasons. An outline of our current Diplomatic Protocols
as well as what this entails for any given Division or Officer classification is listed below:
I) Protectorate Pact (PP):
We will offer this pact to any Fleet or Clan who we feel is being poorly treated by another,
or who cannot sustain themselves without help. If the Fleet or Clan applying for this is on good
terms with us, an application for alliance under this Pact may be considered.. This pact, once
accepted, is a one sided defense arrangement in which The Risen Phoenix will provide military
and political protection to the protectorate. We ask for no remuneration, this is our duty to the
community. Visiting Fleets who apply for this form of pact are generally ignored for this is not
a bodyguard service.
II) Non-Aggression Pact (NAP):
This is a pact of recognition that the involved clans are in a pact together. This is a sign that the
involved clans will have some respect for each other when gaming or in contact with each other.
This does not guarantee support in any wars. This treaty will remain in effect until either side
breaks the pact. A request can be made to be released from this pact.
III) Alliance Pact (A):
This pact guarantees that the Risen Phoenix shall support another organization during times of
war, defensive or not, and vice versa. In the event that an alliance holder with the Risen Phoenix
enters into a conflict with another entity, we would contribute to the war effort by providing
assistance. Military intervention on behalf of the alliance would occur when the Generals
decide upon a wise course of action, and have formulated a strategy to guarantee that both the
Risen Phoenix and her ally will emerge victorious.
IV) Mutual Protection Pact (MPP):
This is The Risen Phoenix's NATO style alliance pact. For all practical reasons an MPP is to be
considered an alliance. This pact brings together the signatories against an external aggressor
who starts military action against one of the signatories. This means that both signatories would
provide support in the areas of logistics, professional soldiers, and intelligence that is relevant to
the war effort if requested by either side.
V) Intervention Pact / War Alliance (IP / WA):
The Risen Phoenix and other signatories shall agree to intervene in a military and/or political
arena if a certain condition is breached. For instance, if Fleet A is invaded by Fleet B, IP Pact
Fleets C, D and E will engage Fleet B. This form of pact is a political pact and is used to defer
war by proving its futility through show of strength. This pact can either be made publicly or
secretly.
2-2) In addition to the Diplomatic protocols stated above, the Brotherhood also utilizes some internal protocols.
These are used mainly in conjunction with Fleet operations, and serve to reflect the current alert status of the Fleet. An outline of these Fleet protocols is as follows:
I) Condition Green signifies a "normal" risk of attack. The Risen Phoenix Officers of all fleets are to carry out standard patrol duties. This is the preferred condition status for diplomatic relations building.
II) Condition Yellow signifies a heightened risk of attack. The Risen Phoenix Marines are ordered
to raise shields and prepare for imminent conflict, and the rest of the Fleet is placed on standby
and advised to be vigilant. Diplomacy is instructed to make clear The Risen Phoenix's stance
during this period and keep the Fleet up to date.
III) Condition Red means an enemy attack appears imminent or has begun. Condition red requires the First Fleet to be completely mobilized and the 2nd and 3rd Fleets to be placed in reserve.
The Risen Phoenix Security is instructed to complete Condition Red objectives to lock down the
fleet against cyber attacks. Diplomacy is instructed to keep the Fleet up to date with
developments on the military front and to keep our allies informed of our progress.
War is looming or has begun, and we are ready for it.
IV) Condition Blue - This is our special alert status for unique times of inactivity (e.g. Christmas /
New Years). The Risen Phoenix is placed into a state of community isolation, all Diplomacy
treaty obligations are temporarily suspended and foreign relations are put on hold.
The Risen Phoenix is temporarily placed in hibernation mode. All officers are automatically
granted leave but are free to continue their normal duties.
3 - Complaints And Feedback
In general, a professional attitude should also be maintained when submitting or registering complaints.
Problems between individual members should never be aired openly on the Forums – this makes us all look bad in the face of our Diplomatic Allies in particular. Conflict resolution may be handled privately via email, PM, or IM. It may also be privately arbitrated in this manner if the individuals in question are irreconcilable towards each other.
Conversely, Feedback may happen on the Forums in response to an issue or concept. Negative criticism is allowable, so long as the point can be proven, and it remains constructive.
